A Snowy Day

.snowy day photo here

I frequently take pictures on snowy days and am always disappointed that the falling snowflakes are mostly invisible. In an attempt to "fix" this, I tried to use fill-flash. Well, that helped a little. To "really fix" it, I cranked up the flash by 2 f-stops. Now, it really looks like a snowy day. The new problem is that the flash makes reflective surfaces, like the street sign, and vehicle tail lights dominate the picture. I "fixed" this by using TheGimp's Dodge/Burn tool to darken them. I also used TheGimp to reduce the saturation and make it look almost like a black-and-white photo to give the shot a more dismal bad-weather look.
