Pot Shot
Pot Shot
.
OK, maybe this one
is a little more off-the-wall than most. I wanted to get a
180 degree picture of my backyard,
and don't have a fisheye lens. Anybody can stitch together
a
bunch of flat photos, but that doesn't convey a surrounding feeling.
After some experimentation, I decided to use a tea kettle as
a mirror and photograph it. The vertical black post in the
middle of the picture is the camera mount, and the funny looking thing
at top center is the kettle's spout. The back of my house,
and both neighbors' houses are visible at the edges. I'm
hoping to try this again some time at night in hopes of getting a
rising moon and some stars. Photo taken with EF-12 II
lens spacer and Canon 28-135mm lens. Exposure was f/16 at
1/125 second ISO 100. The GIMP was used to enhance contrast
and
reverse the mirror image. I used the camer's timer function in order to
have time to run out of the field of view before the shutter triggered.
