Ground Ivy

.GroundIvy photo here

This is one of my favorite plants to shoot. It's a tiny wild mint that grows in my backyard lawn. To ants, these plants must look like a forest. I used an 60mm macro lens with a 12mm extension tube. Exposure is 3 sec at f/22 ISO 100.   These guys have a wonderful scent; it's somewhere between a mint and a seasoning. Ground Ivy usually stays green throughout the winter, especially when it's near the warm house foundation. The best part is seeing the blue/purple blossoms in the lawn after months of winter.
